Perq Operating System
The demo shows a mockup window system. Each "window" is actually an
individual program - each run one at a time from a batch file. When the
program is done it exits leaving the image on the screen. The next program
run may or may not save what is behind its window to be restored later.
The above screen shot shows an animated bar graph that is followed by
a mouse that runs through a maze.
Then this guy comes on the screen and slides the screen away.
A scripted demo of a paint program plays back the actions of someone
drawing this face.
Bouncing blocks, lines, and moving windows.
Keep in mind the Perq added hardware and special operations to accelerate
manipulation of graphics on the screen. This was much faster than software
directly manipulating the video memory, and in some ways made GUIs more
practical
A demonstration of different fonts, sizes, and styles. Oh, and
a squirrel!
