MacOS X Version 10.3.4
A new feature of this version of MacOS is Exposé. (That is an
accented "e" on the end).
This feature enables the user to quickly see all windows that are open
at once by either by pressing a specified key on the keyboard or moving
the mouse to a specified corner of the screen. When this feature is activated
all windows momentarily "zoom out" and reorganize so they can all be seen
without any overlap.
Probably the most important change over earlier versions is that the
Safari web browser is now the standard default web browser included with
MacOS X.
Safari is a speedy up to date standards compliant web browser based
on the open source Konqueror web browser.
Previously MacOS had been shipping with the Mac version of Internet
Explorer, however Microsoft discontinued this product. The final version
of IE for the Mac can still be downloaded, however it is now very out of
date and is much slower than Safari.
Up to date versions of Mozilla and Opera are also available for MacOS
X.
I just want to point something out with this screen shot.
Microsoft, especially in Windows XP has littered dialog boxes with hyperlinks.
This is incorrect as hyperlinks are part of a document metaphor and do
not belong in dialog boxes. Apple has done things the right way by using
buttons instead.
The help system now uses the Safari HTML rendering engine.
