Tandy Personal DeskMate
There is a calendar program that lets you enter notes for each day.
Probably the most interesting program is Filer, a database. With Filer
you can visually create data entry forms and quickly start entering data.
There is also a Terminal program called Telecom used to communicate
with other computers via a modem or serial device.
Personal Deskmate supports the most important thing in the world...
Printing!
Apparently it uses only ASCII (non graphical) printing with control
codes to specify formatting.
You can customize the Personal DeskMate color scheme. This graphic
mode uses a pallet of only four colors, but each of the four may be set
to any one of sixteen colors.
Using the Build menu to remove and display items, you can rearrange
the items on the desktop.
Personal DeskMate also has a built in help system, accessible in each
application using the "?" in the upper right.
Quitting DeskMate immediately returns you to DOS.
Personal Deskmate 2 (not to be confused with the earlier DeskMate II)
is almost identical other than an additional 16-color paint program and
sound program. DeskMate 3 (note they dropped the "Personal" prefix) is
more advanced and included versions that ran on other IBM-PC compatibles.
